Gracias, Scuzzo! (ahora que lo pienso, Scuzzo suena como nombre de super-héroe ). Estaba tratando de que el entintado sea un poco más dinámico... trazos largos y manchas. Todo en el nombre de la experimentación
The kind of figure study you tend to knock right out of the park-- great, naturalistic foreshortening, righteous proportions, and a quizzical/all but menacing facial expression; there's something in all of this framing darkness that disquiets, and suggests the possibility of outright danger, but maybe that's just the mood I'm in right now...
Thanks, brother! I used a photo that I found as reference for this sketch, and that picture was taken in a place with good lightning, so there wasn't a bit of darkness there. I guess I figured I would add a lot of heavy black just for the girl to stand out and because I was thinking with the right colors it might have looked like if she was being illuminated from a tv set in the middle of the night.
As for her facial expression, while there isn't much resemblance between the girl I drew and the one from the photo (I was more interested in the pose and anatomy, and I'm terrible at getting likeness), I think the expression here and in the photo are quite similar. I wonder what the model was thinking about at the time the picture was taken. Maybe she was only concentrated in thinking "I've got to smile for the camera" and just trying to do that...
Yeah, you never know how much the viewer is projecting into the work that the artist never intended to put there; a week from now this could look like a still from a Disney film to me...
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
